Social entrepreneurs take off

Fifteen successful graduates of a social enterprise start-up course received their certificates in Enterprise Week.

All had attended the course run by Croydon Enterprise programme partners, Croydon Voluntary Action through their Commensse project - ‘Community Enterprise Support Service’.

On the two day course they learned about all aspects of running a not-for-profit social enterprise, including finance, quality assurance, business and marketing skills.

The certificates were presented by Councillor Tim Pollard, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development. The presentations on Thursday 15th November came on Social Enterprise Day, part of Enterprise Week.

The course graduates, and their organisations are: Shakira Sayyed - Rose Health and Beauty Club, Zaynab Hassan – Samaddoon; Maisie Barrett - Inspiration, Lucy Njomo - AYDA, Gloria Williams - Cherry Ekem - African Help Point, Jenny Morgan – YESS!, Radha Tailor - Dancing Peacock, Meg Goodman-Odeleye -Barbados Women's League, Frederick Mensah - Sash Renovation Systems, Remy Abeli-Meitho - Yes Africa.
