SLEMBA – the South London Ethnic Minority Business Association – is delivering outreach and developing entrepreneurship among key target groups for the Croydon Enterprise programme.  They won the contract following an open competitive process.
Their YES Croydon Project provides practical solutions and training for individuals to help turn business ideas into a reality or at least consider the reality.   The unique mix of products and services is delivered directly to customers in a way that suits the.
YES! Croydon focuses on young people, women, lone parents, people with disabilities and people over 50 years old considering enterprise or self-employment. People who take part in the project can benefit from free advice, workshops, seminars, mentoring, training, monthly enterprise clubs and much more.

The service will deliver:

  • Awareness seminars
  • Start your own business workshops
  • Targeted training
  • ‘Enterprise Bus’ visiting different locations
  • Enterprise placements – an opportunity to shadow a real business and see what it is like in the hot seat
  • Mentoring - access to over 1,200 volunteer mentors available to offer support and advice to individuals thinking of starting-up or start-ups. They are experienced business people who have been trained in mentoring skills.

Clients will be assigned to a dedicated member of the YES Croydon Project Team who understands the challenges you face and will provide you with practical solutions, we will also help you further to gain more information and advice from the experts and link you into training opportunities and networks of likeminded individuals seeking to take their ideas forward.
